About
Ann Phillips is a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center specializing in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Phillips’s professional nursing experience includes working as a PRN nurse at UH from 2006 to 2007, an adjunct clinical faculty nurse at Huron School of Nursing from 2006 to 2008, Nursing Operations Manager at Cleveland Clinic – Huron (East Cleveland, Ohio) from 2006 to 2011, and Clinical Service Coordinator, Neurointerventional Radiology, at UH from 2011 to 2016. Since July 2016, Phillips has worked as a CNS, Cardiac Surgery, at UH Harrington Heart and Vascular Institute (Cleveland, Ohio). She is also employed at UH as a Clinical Nurse Specialist – Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine, a position she has held since June 2022.
Phillips has presented at meetings of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and Premier, Inc., among other organizations, on such nursing-related topics as maximizing ICU care, nursing care for ischemic stroke, and transitioning an Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) program from perfusionist to nurse-driven care. She has served as a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses since 2001 and the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists since 2016. Phillips’s community service activities have included volunteer work for Northeast Ohio STREAM, Cleveland Metropolitan Schools and Lake County’s Emergency Weather Shelter.

At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
