Bio

Andrew Hertz, MD, FAAP, is a pediatrician with Suburban Pediatrics, seeing patients at their Solon and Shaker Heights offices. He also is Medical Director of University Hospitals Rainbow Care Connection Pediatric Accountable Care Organization (ACO), the Rainbow Call Center and Rainbow Care Network, the region’s largest coordinated group of medical professionals providing care to children. He has admitting privileges at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and is Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Dr. Hertz is board certified in pediatrics. He joined the UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital staff and Suburban Pediatrics in 1996.

Dr. Hertz earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla. He returned to his hometown, Cleveland, to earn his Doctor of Medicine from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, followed by a residency in pediatrics at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. In his fourth year, Dr. Hertz served as Chief Resident in pediatrics.

A pioneer in the development of after-hours telephone triage services in pediatric practices, Dr. Hertz has published papers and made presentations on the subject at the annual meetings of the Ambulatory Pediatrics Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He also speaks frequently to local, regional and national medical conferences on establishing a pediatric ACO.

Dr. Hertz is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Academic Pediatrics Association.
