About Our Survey

At University Hospitals, we believe in providing patients with all the information they need to make educated decisions about their health care and to choose the right doctor to meet their needs. That is why we partner with the independent patient satisfaction company Press Ganey to survey patients about their experiences at UH facilities and with UH physicians. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of care and are dedicated to creating a positive patient experience for every individual who sees a UH doctor.

First visit with Dr. Bak -- very pleased with my selection of her as my care provider upon the retirement of Dr. *****.

Reviewed on 6/13/2017
This was my first visit to Dr. Bak upon enrolling in Medicare. I have been looking for a suitable physician since 2013. She took thorough notes and made copies of my independently obtained lab results, my Medical power of Attorney and my blood alternatives information. She is open to alternative treatments and was extremely respectful of my knowledge.

Doctor Bak is very nice, easy to talk to and very compassionate.

Reviewed on 12/13/2016
Dr. Bak spent sufficient time and explained well enough, but I would like to have had follow-up information, I had ***** and didn't receive specific results. I can see the results on line thru UH site, but its not very clear to me what those results mean....too technical. But the care was good and staff was fine.

Industry Relationships

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.

UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.

As of December 31, 2015, Ewa Bak, MD did not disclose any Outside Relationships with Industry.
