Dr. Salata was very nice and respectful. I explained to him why I wanted to see him to get another opinion on my "sitting pain" issue. While he didn't do a physical exam (not sure why), he did order new x-rays and looked at them to see if he had any thoughts on what might be causing my pain. He showed me my x-rays and talked to me about what he saw and then he gave 2 suggested injections and in what order he recommened them.

Overall I had a good experience with Dr. Salata. I thought my records would be accessible through ***, but they were not. I liked that Dr. Salata sat next to me and showed the xrays on the screen and explained what he saw as the cause of my pain. I also liked that he explained what he was doing during the physical exam. I disliked that Dr. Salata did not prescribe my medication as it was previously and he did not discuss what he changed it to and why. Otherwise I had a good visit and would recommend Dr. Salata.

Everything went well; I have always had good experiences with the doctors, however the office staff at check-in at both the Dr.'s office and the lab for x-rays were the best I've had

Industry Relationships

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.

UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
