About

Matthew J. Stull, MD, is an anesthesiologist and emergency medicine physician at University Hospitals. He is director of Resuscitation and Critical Care in the Department of Emergency Medicine and is chair of UH Cleveland Medical Center’s Resuscitation Committee. He is an assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Stull is board certified in both anesthesiology critical care medicine and emergency medicine.

Dr. Stull is originally from Pittsgrove, New Jersey. He earned his undergraduate degree at Bucknell University and attended medical school at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed a residency in emergency medicine at University of Cincinnati Medical Center and a fellowship in critical care at University of Michigan and Medical Center.

Dr. Stull’s areas of expertise include critical care and cardiac arrest. Other clinical and teaching interests include mechanical circulatory support, undifferentiated shock, cardiac arrest resuscitation/post-arrest care, and refractory hypoxia.

At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
