Patient Experience Reviews
The University Hospital staff were the kindest group of people I have ever been around during testing and of course my diagnoses of *** cancer. Everyone is so kind!
Very good experience with the provider. No complaints to report.
Dr. Schmaier was excellent. He listened to my concerns and discussed what he saw in my bloodwork.I was called by the office 2 or 3 times before the visit to discuss the reasons for my visit. I was impressed by this. I don't think I've ever had this level of attention anywhere. You need to get everyone up and trained on Epic as soon as you can. Dr. Schmaier was unable to bring up my information right before the visit and I think this was caused by the transition. It wasn't a problem. He just spent more time me asking questions, talking and reviewing paper results that I brought with me. Also, I could tell that he also reviewed my chart soon after the visit based on the notes that I found in MuChart.
Dr. Schmier is the best. He listens to you and gives you his opinion rather it what you want to her or not. I respect that your care is his number one concern and I know he loves the data.
I felt that everyone did a great job visit. Dr. Schmaier spent time with me to review my concerns and look at past Lab results with me. I was able to see the lab results and Dr Schmaier's report the same day and my follow up phone appointment was scheduled.
Provider was great, the scheduler had me scheduled for lab which I do after appointment, came early and had to wait. The nurse and do. We're on time. I was annoyed because we have to pay for parking and udually the lab wait ends up in extra fees. I could have sat somewhere for free.
Care provider and his staff were excellent. ***
Dr. Schmaier is exceptional. I have never felt better since under his care. I switched from another hospital and doctor years ago. He literally saved my life and improved the quality of my life. *** had taken a toll on me, at my age, and Dr. Schmaier got me on the right meds and care. He is one of a kind and me and my wife will be forever grateful.
Dr. Schmaier has been an ideal provider for the medical difficulties I experienced. I will see him in several months as follow up.
Everyone went above and beyond!
My experience was great with the doctor and staff.
Good
Dr. Schmaier is an excellent doctor.
Industry Relationships
University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.
UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
