About
Michael M. Langer, DO, is an expert general cardiologist and advanced cardiovascular imaging specialist at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute.
Dr. Langer earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania. His postdoctoral training included an internal medicine residency at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, followed by a cardiology fellowship at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Brown Mills, New Jersey. He then completed specialized fellowships in cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging at Oklahoma Heart Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and The Royal Brompton Hospital in London, England. He also pursued a cardiac computed tomography angiography fellowship at University of Erlangen in Nuremburg, Germany. Dr. Langer has been in clinical practice in Northeast Ohio since 2006.
Dr. Langer is board certified in cardiovascular disease with special expertise in the fields of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI), cardiac computed tomography angiography (cardiac CTA) and nuclear cardiology. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, peripheral artery disease, heart valve disease and heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation. Dr. Langer provides frequent presentations and education on these topics to cardiologists, primary care physicians, hospitalists, mid-level practitioners and nursing staff.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Langer is a member of national professional organizations including the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, American Osteopathic Association, Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and the American Society of Echocardiography.
