About
Atul Hulyalkar, MD, MHCM, is an expert general cardiologist at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Hulyalkar earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. His postdoctoral training included residencies in internal medicine and anesthesiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. He followed with a residency in anesthesiology and critical care medicine, then fellowships in cardiovascular disease and cardiac anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Later, Dr. Hulyalkar earned a master’s in healthcare management (MHCM) from the Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. Hulyalkar is board certified in cardiovascular disease, anesthesiology and internal medicine. His special areas of expertise include the diagnosis and treatment of patients with coronary artery disease, heart valve disease, heart failure and heart arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation. He also has extensive experience in preventive cardiology, cardiac imaging and perioperative management.
Dr. Hulyalkar is an active member of nationally distinguished organizations including the American College of Cardiology. He has been named one of Cleveland’s Best Doctors by Cleveland Magazine and one of the Best Doctors in America by Castle Connolly. Additionally, he has received the Teaching Excellence Award from both Ohio University and Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). He has also been elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
In his free time, Dr. Hulyalkar enjoys running, skiing, meditating, reading and solving crossword puzzles. He played division I collegiate soccer at Dartmouth and has lived in Northeast Ohio since 1993.

The doctor explain all the results and answered gyrations and put me at ease. This was about checking my heart because of issues that arose during my knee replacement.
