Jessica Goldstein, MD joined the faculty of University Hospitals in 2014 and currently serves as the co-director of the spinal muscular atrophy treatment program at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Dr. Goldstein is a dual board-certified pediatrician and neurologist specializing in child neurology and an assistant professor of pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. 

Her clinical interests include headache, demyelinating disease, spinal muscular atrophy, care of complex neurological patients, and general pediatric neurology. Dr. Goldstein also has a passion for medical education and education scholarship. She is the director of the medical education and leadership track and the education director for the division of pediatric neurology. She has a special interest in resident professional development, mentorship, scholarship, and exploring the effective use of technology in curriculum design. Her teaching expertise has not gone unrecognized as she has received several teaching awards during her academic career.

Dr. Goldstein earned a bachelor’s degree with highest honors in biology from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio. Her medical doctorate from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society. She completed residencies in pediatrics and child neurology at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Goldstein serves on the PREP editorial board for the American Academy of Pediatrics and as faculty for the technology in education course for the Academic Pediatric Association Education Scholars Program. She also serves as the faculty advisor for the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine’s American Academy of Neurology SIGN interest group chapter.

Dr. Goldstein was awesome! Our family for various reasons has had to see a few different neurologists. Our experience with Dr. Goldstein was one of the best we have ever had. She made our daughter feel entirely comfortable during the visit. She listened to our concerns and addressed them all completely. She's a great addition to the Rainbow team!

*** suffers from migraines, some of them really painful. Right now she's only 17 1/2 years old. And since these started, about 6 years ago, Dr. Goldstein has done wonders with teaching her to manage the pain and keep them under control. God Bless Dr. Goldstein.
