About
Dr. Allison Gilmore, MD, is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and Associate Professor of Orthopaedics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Gilmore has expertise in the evaluation of the full-spectrum of general pediatric orthopedic conditions with a special interest in pediatric sports medicine surgery.
A life-long Clevelander, Dr. Gilmore obtained a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from Ohio State University in 1987 and a Master of Education in Exercise Science from Cleveland State University in 1988. She went on to earn her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1994. Dr. Gilmore completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland in 1999 and a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. She has been a practicing pediatric orthopedic surgeon at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s since completing her fellowship.
Dr. Gilmore was recognized as a top doctor by Cleveland Magazine in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021. She is a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Alpha Omega Alpha (Ohio Chapter), Cleveland Orthopaedic Society, The Charles Herndon Society and Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, among other professional societies and committees. In addition to serving as an abstract reviewer for Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, Dr. Gilmore has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications, editorials and textbook chapters in the field of pediatric orthopaedics.
