About
Guadalupe Fernandez-Baca Vaca, MD specializes in the field of Epilepsy, EEG, and Intraoperative Monitoring and is an Associate Professor in Neurology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Fernandez-Baca was born in Malaga, Spain. She graduated from Malaga School of Medicine and completed residency training in Clinical Neurophysiology at Hospital Clinico San Carlos in Madrid. She also completed her Neurology Residency and Epilepsy Fellowship at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
Dr. Fernandez-Baca Vaca has devoted herself to academic clinical practice and clinical research at the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Her research's primary focus is Epilepsy surgery and Seizure Semiology, having been recognized and awarded with an Education Award by Epileptic disorders and the International League Against Epilepsy for her original publication in Ictal Semiology. She teaches during the bi-annual intensive, eight-week course designed to instruct in core competencies related to epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology. In her free time, Dr. Fernandez-Baca enjoys reading, traveling with her family, and gastronomy.
