About

Naim Z. Farhat, MD, FACC, FCCP, is an expert interventional cardiologist at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute, directing cardiovascular services at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. He is also a clinical assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Dr. Farhat earned his medical degree from the University of Damascus in Syria. He then came to the United States to pursue his postdoctoral training. This included internships and residencies in anatomic pathology and internal medicine followed by a fellowship in cardiology at Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital, now called MetroHealth Medical Center.

After two years with Kaiser Permanente as an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Farhat joined North Ohio Heart, Inc., serving patients on the west side of Cleveland for over 30 years. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of both common and complex heart conditions including coronary artery disease, heart failure, heart valve disease and heart rhythm disorders.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Farhat serves as a clinical assistant professor at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and guest member of the Medical Executive Committee at University Hospitals St. John Medical Center in Westlake, Ohio. His passion for clinical excellence and quality outcomes has also led him to actively participate as a member of the medical staff performance improvement committee and credentialing committee during his tenure.

Dr. Farhat is a proud member of respected professional organizations including the American Society of Echocardiography, American Heart Association, Society for Cardiac Angiography Interventions and Arab American Medical Association. He has also been named a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and College of Chest Physicians (CCP.)
