Sahera Dirajlal-Fargo, DO, is a physician in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Rheumatology at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and Instructor, Pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Dr. Dirajlal-Fargo is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases. Her special interest is pediatric infectious diseases, particularly pediatric HIV infection. She was named to the UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital staff in 2013.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Carroll College, Waukesha, Wis., and a master’s degree in neuroscience from Medical College of Wisconsin, Wauwatosa, Wis. She earned a doctorate in osteopathic medicine from University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, Biddeford, Maine.

Dr. Dirajlal-Fargo completed her residency in pediatrics at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Maricopa Integrated Health System, Phoenix, Ariz. She served a fellowship in pediatric infectious disease at Children’s National Medical Center, Washington, DC, and during this time was a medical reviewer for the Division of Vaccines and Related Product Applications, Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Rockville, Md.

In 2009 and 2010 Dr. Dirajlal-Fargo was a Pediatric Aids Corps Physician with the Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative and worked at the Pediatric HIV Outreach Clinic, both in Malawi, Africa. Her research interest is in cardiovascular complications in pediatric HIV infection and in HIV in sub-Saharan Africa.

Dr. Dirajlal-Fargo has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international pediatric medicine meetings and symposiums. She is a member of the International AIDS Society, Pediatric Infectious Disease Society and Infectious Disease Society of America.

In addition to English, Dr. Dirajlal-Fargo is fluent in French and Spanish.
