I received the most incredible, thoughtful and supportive care from my provider, Colleen Brezine, ***. My labor + delivery did not go as I had planned/hoped and they were by my side every step of the way ensuring I knew exactly what was happening and why, answering questions, and comforting me in the most loving and caring way. All 4 of these women came and checked in at the start and end of each shift, just to see how we were doing, answer any questions and offer their support. Wendy even offered to take pictures of us when she came in to check on me. That was the first time I ever met her, and she was such a bright light during this experience. I am truly grateful for this entire practice and all they did for me and our baby. We are both happy and healthy, thanks to this team of women, and that is all that matters. There were a few others I would like to acknowledge from my hospital stay. *** She was so calming, soothing, and reassuring and she communicated all benefits and risks, as well as what she was doing every step of the way.***She always made sure I had everything I needed and went above and beyond to try and make me comfortable. ***.

It was really nice to see Colleen Brezine whom I've known for *** years. She knows my medical history even though my medical records didn't show up as a result of the computer program change several years ago. Continuity of care is very uncommon now and I appreciated seeing her.

Industry Relationships
University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.
UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
