Atiye Aktay, MD
Atiye N. Aktay, MD, is a specialist in pediatric digestive disorders in the Division of Pediatric Nutrition and Gastroenterology, University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. She is Assistant Professor, Pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Aktay is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology. Her special interests feeding and swallowing difficulties, eosinophilic gastroenteritis in infants and children, Helicobacter pylori infection, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), capsule endoscopy and celiac disease. She joined the UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital staff in 2008.
Dr. Aktay earned her medical degree from the University of Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Capa, Istanbul, Turkey. She completed her residency in pediatrics at The University of Chicago Children's Hospital, Chicago, Ill., and a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wis.
She has delivered abstract and poster presentations on special problems in pediatric digestive diseases at major medical meetings and published scientific papers in leading pediatric and nutrition journals. Dr. Aktay recently was invited to present Grand Rounds on H. pylori infection in children at Kartal Hospital in Istanbul.
Her professional memberships include the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Council of Pediatric Subspecialties and the Turkish Medical Society among others.
