Essay Question

Please complete your response to ONE of the following essay prompts on a separate WORD DOCUMENT. Once completed upload your document in the space below. You should note that this is the most heavily weighted component of the selection process.

Guideline for your essay:

• Include your Name, School, Date and Question at the top of the word document
• Essay should not exceed 650 words
• Include an outline for your response and restate the question
• Check your essay for correct grammar and spelling

Choose one question below

1. Describe your personal health and describe your community's health. Which one influences the other? How? Why?
2. What can we do, individually and collectively, to overcome COVID-19?
3. Do you know people who avoid doctors' offices? Why do they?
4. Please do some research on oral health. What impact does it have on other aspects of our health?
5. Describe a moral dilemma that you've faced. How did you handle it? If you could do it over again, what (if anything) would you do differently?
6. Describe a situation where you have chosen to advocate for someone who is different from yourself. What does advocacy mean to you and how has your advocacy developed? What risks, if any, might be associated with your choice to be an advocate?

Your application requires that you have (2) letters of recommendation submitted on your behalf. One character reference from someone who knows you well (inside or outside of school, not to include family or friends) and one specifically from a teacher.

Letter of recommendations should include: (provide this information to the people providing references)

• Name, complete mailing address and phone number of your reference
• How long and in what capacity have you known the applicant?
• Describe the applicant’s leadership potential, including strengths and/or weaknesses?
• What distinguishes this applicant from other candidates your might recommend?
