Trisha O'Brien Pavilion Recently Dedicated

Friday, May 26, 2017

On May 25, 2017, the Rainbow Performance Area at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital was formally dedicated the Trisha O'Brien Pavilion, in recognition of a $2.325 million gift from Jeffrey A. Cole and Trisha O'Brien Cole. New signage at the pavilion honors their generosity.

The Coles wanted to make a difference, and to leave a legacy at UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital – a place so near to Trisha's heart due to her care throughout her childhood by our pediatric orthopedics team.

Born in Cleveland, Trisha O'Brien was a pediatric orthopedics patient at UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital from age 2 to 18. She never forgot the kindness and attentiveness she experienced. Recently as she walked through the Rainbow lobby for the first time in years and saw children participating in music therapy, her memories inspired her to contribute to Rainbow's warm and welcoming atmosphere on behalf of other children and families.

Trisha is a successful jazz singer and recording artist. Jeff Cole is a prominent philanthropist, patron of the arts, and the retired Chairman and CEO of the eyewear and specialty-retail company Cole National Corp.

Their gift also supports the Department of Pediatric Orthopedics through the Jeffrey and Trisha O'Brien Cole Fund.

We are grateful to Jeffrey and Trisha for their thoughtful generosity that will enrich the UH Rainbow patient experience for years to come. You can learn more about the Coles and their gift through our full news release, and discover more about Trisha as an artist at her website.
