UH Harrington Discovery Institute Receives $25 Million from Ohio Third Frontier

The Harrington Discovery Institute at University Hospitals was awarded a $25 million grant from Ohio Third Frontier Technology Commercialization Center Program, an internationally recognized economic development initiative that invests in new technology. The grant will help fund and develop breakthrough technologies and turn them into life-saving drugs for patients. It has the potential to be the biggest award given through Ohio Third Frontier’s economic development program in eight years, according to Crain’s Cleveland Business.

With this award, the Innovation Support Center at UH Harrington Discovery Institute will help accelerate the nation’s most promising pharmaceutical developments by supporting physician-scientists. The grant allows the Innovation Support Center to forge powerful relationships with scientists and industry experts and to serve as the bridge between inventors, their institutions and commercialization partners.

Funding from the grant will create high-growth medical technology start-ups for the development of new medicines emerging from The Harrington Project and attract jobs and venture capital to Ohio. Learn more about this exciting development.
