Two New ENT Chairs Established

University Hospitals has announced the creation of two new chairs in the UH Ear, Nose & Throat Institute, bringing the institute’s total number of endowed positions to five. With each chair representing a commitment of $1.5 million in our ENT program, the institute becomes one of the most endowed ENT programs in the country.  The chairs demonstrate the UH Ear, Nose & Throat Institute’s top national standing and leadership in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery.

New ENT chairs:

  • James E. Arnold, MD and Nancy P. and Thomas W. Seitz Chair in Pediatric Otolaryngology
  • Dr. Gail and Hoyt Murray Chair in Pediatric Audiology and Cochlear Implants

The James E. Arnold, MD and Nancy P. and Thomas W. Seitz Chair in Pediatric Otolaryngology has been funded through a lead gift from the Seitz family, matching funds of $500,000 from the Rainbow Babies & Children’s Foundation and numerous other generous supporting gifts.  The chair will support the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology in providing top-quality, compassionate patient care, conducting clinical research and furthering educational endeavors.

The Dr. Gail and Hoyt Murray Chair in Pediatric Audiology and Cochlear Implants is funded through a lead gift from the Murray family as well as supporting gifts, and is being matched by a $500,000 gift from the Rainbow Babies & Children’s Foundation.  The Murray Chair will support the Chief of Audiology in diagnosing and treating hearing disorders in young patients and the provision of cochlear implants.

University Hospitals is extremely grateful to all of the donors who continue to support the ENT Institute.
