Coming in April - SuperHeroes Unite

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Dinah Kolesar, President, Rainbow Babies & Children’s Foundation, is proud to announce the launch of one of the most exciting Ride the Rainbow signature events in the Foundation’s history, with an aggressive goal to raise $1million. Ride the Rainbow 2014 will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014 amid the stunning backdrop of the dramatic skylines and soaring open spaces of the Grand Ballroom of the Cleveland Convention Center.

Since its inception in 2004, Ride the Rainbow has raised $4 million to support University Hospitals (UH) Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. The funds from the 2014 event will support key hospital programs, recruitment and recognition of exceptional physician-scientists and the nationally recognized Family and Child Life Services Program. 

Wrapped around a dynamic and uniquely presented SuperHeroes theme, more than 1,000 guests are expected to celebrate UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital’s mission to provide the highest quality, family-centered care to children and families. Guests while be immersed in a setting filled with amazing attention to detail, dazzling nuances, fabulous food, top-notch entertainment, unique auction opportunities, and many surprises.

Presenting Sponsor, Platinum Sponsors and Event Leadership

Ride the Rainbow 2014 will again be presented through the continued generosity of PNC Bank. Platinum Hero Sponsors are The Edward F. Crawford Foundation and Park-Ohio Holdings and Howard Hanna Real Estate Services.

In leadership roles are Honorary Chairs Mary and Terry Fergus and Barbara Peterson Ruhlman; and Corporate Committee Chairs Joel Adelman, CEO, Advance Group, and Gregory Skoda, Chairman, Skoda Minotti. 

Event Chairs and Foundation trustees Deb Crawford and Stacey Hanna are deep in planning and strategy as they create this spectacular event, motivating and guiding individual committees to bring it to fruition. They are supported by the Foundation and a team of more than 100 committee volunteers along with key hospital development and marketing staff. The team is currently focused on seeking generous corporate sponsors, table hosts and supporters throughout Northeast Ohio to join this ambitious fundraising initiative.

A cleverly-designed and action-oriented SuperHeroes Comic Book was delivered to a group of high-level potential sponsors, complete with personalization, in attention-getting packaging that included whimsical SuperHeroes iconic items and details of the event and sponsorship opportunities. “Our goal in 2014 is an aggressive one, to raise more than $1 million,” says Dinah Kolesar. “We are convinced when our target market of previous supporters as well as many new corporations and individuals see the ingenuity we’ve wrapped around an otherwise very serious message, they will be intrigued and impressed to join this SuperHeroes team.”

Sponsorship levels range from $75,000 to $3,500. Sponsors in the $10,000 and above range are invited as special guests to a thank you VIP experience that has gained a reputation for being absolutely fantastic! Both Chairs look upon this as an immense but fulfilling challenge as they continue to create a mystique around the VIP experience, keep their committees engaged, in focus and on-budget and concentrate on the fundraising aspects.
