Running Through Rainbows

More than 450 runners dashed through rainbows on July 11 at Rainbow Run, a 5K color powder run at Gilmour Academy in Gates Mills benefiting UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Another 100 or more bystanders cheered as friends and family were bathed in color powder at each kilometer mark, creating a rainbow effect at the finish line. This was the most successful Rainbow Run yet, raising more than $30,000 for programs and services supporting the patients and families at Rainbow.

Event organizers Kennedy Ricci and Madison Asher promoted Rainbow Run through social media, sponsorships and word of mouth. More than 34 sponsors helped make the event successful, along with volunteers who devoted 380 hours of service.
