Investing in Hope

New Chair Targets Innovative Pediatric Cancer

Terri and Stuart Kline

Terri and Stuart Kline

Terri and Stuart Kline are giving kids with cancer new reasons to hope through a $1 million investment in cancer research. Their generous contribution, magnified by a $500,000 matching gift from Rainbow Babies & Children’s Foundation, has established the Theresia G. and Stuart F. Kline Family Foundation Chair in Pediatric Oncology in memory of their parents, Ruth and David Gelb and Ann and Louis Kline.

Alex Yee Chen Huang, MD, PhD, Director of the Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Fellowship Program at UH Cleveland Medical Center, is the first to hold the chair. Dr. Huang’s groundbreaking work examines how cancer cells evade detection and elimination. His work also explores the effectiveness of immunotherapy drugs on a cellular level. Thanks to the permanent endowment created by the Klines, Dr. Huang’s research toward the discovery of targeted cancer therapies for children and adolescents will be funded in perpetuity.

Endowed positions such as chairs, directors and master clinicians provide a lasting way for individuals or a family to make a deep and lasting impact on patient health. To learn more about gifts of endowment, please contact us at 216-983-2200 or visit our Gift Planning site.
