Meet the Team

Our team of dedicated physicians, nurses and therapists are highly trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Physicians

The attending physician in charge of your care team is a UH physiatrist. He or she is trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation and work closely with other UH and independent physicians who specialize in internal medicine, orthopedics, urology, nephrology, cardiology, oncology and other specialties.

Therapy

Our therapy team is made up of highly trained physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists. A vast majority of our therapy team members have advanced degrees in their respective fields. Additionally, our therapists are specialized in acute rehabilitation and have specialized training to meet the needs of our patients.

Nursing

Our nursing department is made up of highly trained registered nurses (RN), licensed practicing nurses (LPN) and state-tested nursing assistants (STNA). Many of our nurses also have specialized training in rehabilitation medicine. This dedicated team works together 24 hours a day to ensure our patients are receiving the highest level of nursing care possible.

Admissions

Our admissions team includes our admissions coordinator and a team of clinical liaisons who are nurses and/or social workers. The team works in collaboration with our partner hospitals and community facilities to identify the correct type of patient who would benefit from acute rehabilitation following their hospitalization.
