UH Case Medical Center Ranks Prominently on U.S. News & World Report Lists
Joins an elite list of only 152 hospitals nationwide
University Hospitals Case Medical Center is once again ranked prominently among the top hospitals in the country in seven specialties in U.S. News & World Report’s latest hospital rankings.
The hospital joins an elite group of only 152 hospitals – just 3 percent - out of nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide to be named in U.S. News & World Report's 2010-11 Best Hospitals. Of special note is the addition of two specialties—gynecology and ear, nose & throat—in this year’s rankings, and the improved ranking of three specialties—geriatrics, gastroenterology and cancer.
UH Case Medical Center ranked in top 50 hospitals in the following categories:
The magazine also includes a best children’s hospital section in which University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital is ranked in seven of 10 specialties and its neonatal care as # 4 in the nation. U.S. News published these “America’s Best Children’s Hospitals” rankings last month.
Now in its 21st year, the multi-platform U.S. News Best Hospitals guide is the most extensive hospital ranking to date.
The rankings were driven by hard data such as death rates, procedure volume, and balance of nurses and patients. Only large teaching hospitals with complex medical technology are eligible for consideration.
