University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, in collaboration with the Institute for Pediatric Innovation (IPI), wants you and your ideas at the first annual UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital Pediatric Innovation Day!
What is it? This event is designed to highlight how innovation can lead to improved care for pediatric patients, provide mechanisms by which novel ideas can be developed at UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, and advance the development of products that can solve clinical problems we face in delivering care to our pediatric patients.
Who Should Attend? Physicians, nurses, allied health professionals and any staff from throughout the health system that assist in providing care to children and their families are encouraged to attend.
2009 Winners from the Innovation Competition
- Faruk Örge, MD:
a new design entitled, "Rainbow Speculum" to keep pediatric patients eyelids open
- Alan Cohen, MD:
a novel device for minimally traumatic brain dissection called "Smart Start"
- Andrew Hertz, MD:
interactive pedaler and monitor design to decrease cases childhood obesity
- Kathleen Deakins:
an aerosol delivery device with a t-piece resuscitator for medication delivery
