Does Skim Milk Provide the Same Nutrients as Whole Milk?
Does skim milk provide the same vitamins and minerals as whole milk?
- Jayne
Yes, skim milk has the same nutritional value as whole milk — with less fat. There are some brands of skim milk that have extra calcium added, which provides your kids with more of this important, bone-strengthening nutrient., Some types of skim milk have a small amount of extra fiber added, which makes them look and feel (on the tongue) more like 2% milk. Skim, 1% or 2% milk is recommended after 2 years of age. These often have added vitamin A and vitamin D, since these can be lost when the fat is removed.
