Ambulatory surgery is more commonly known as “outpatient” surgery, where you as a patient will return home the same day as your procedure. The Ambulatory Surgery Department at University Hospitals Richmond Medical Center, A Campus of UH Regional Hospitals is now completely renovated and upgraded to bring new dimensions of convenience and comfort to your outpatient experience during your brief time at the hospital.
Free parking is available in large lots located close to the hospital’s main entrance, which you’ll find next to the Emergency Department. The registration and admission process is faster and easier than ever. Our new, modern surgical waiting area will make your loved ones comfortable, with a variety of snacks and beverages provided at no cost to family members and friends waiting during your procedure. Visitors may also choose to have a meal in the hospital Café, adjacent to the waiting area.
The state-of-the-art, 17-bed ambulatory pre- and post-op surgical unit itself is a dedicated, 5,800 square foot space designed to handle high outpatient volume while offering each patient privacy and individual attention, and promoting the best possible outcomes.
