University Hospitals has performed 355 liver and split-liver transplants since the program's inception in1988. Procedures include whole liver and split-liver transplants and living-donor liver transplants.
University Hospitals transplant staff also perform radiofrequence ablation and liver resection for patients with primary and metastatic tumours of the liver.
