Color Your Corner
Today, more and more children who once received care as inpatients are able to receive medical attention from the comforts of home.  Color Your Corner is a non-profit organization that allows chronically ill children to develop at home in an environment that accentuates their individual personalities.  A positive, fun environment can be an extension of a child’s medical development in transforming a technological and medically dependent environment into an environment that is more kid friendly.

In August 2007, Taylor Kubik, a two year old patient receiving treatments at University Hospitals Ireland Cancer Center, benefited from several, special gifts from Color Your Corner.  Color Your Corner supplied beds, bedding and other furniture and bed room related items for a family going through the trials and tribulations of an exhausting illness that can present challenges and hardship for all of those who are close to and love a sick child.  Taylor’s mother, Misty, is a twenty-nine year old also being treated at the Ireland Cancer Center. And, until recently, the Kubik’s were living among three different relatives’ homes each week.

Color Your Corner made a difference in brightening the home of this special family at a time when it counted the most.
