About Cardiology
Joining together for the best in cardiac care

Rainbow’s Children’s Heart Center provides the skill, dedication and compassion of highly trained and experienced professionals using state-of-the-art protocols and technologies, which means infants, children, adolescents and their families are assured of receiving an extraordinary level of attention and understanding.

If your child has been diagnosed with heart disease or a cardiac defect, you’ll find the nationally known experts you need at the Heart Center, where members of the Divisions of Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery, Pediatric Critical Care, Neonatology and Pediatric Anesthesiology combine their skills to deliver world-class cardiac care.

Such multidisciplinary care has been proven to be the most effective and successful method of patient care, particularly in complex disorders such as children’s heart conditions.

Cardiac physicians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, pulmonologists, nephrologists, and critical care specialists work together to produce a highly individualized plan of treatment for your child, and the best possible prognosis for long-term health.

From cardiac catheterization to electrophysiology assessments to heart transplantation, The Heart Center’s nationally respected physicians evaluate, treat and provide follow-up services for literally any type of acquired or congenital heart problem.

The advantage of collaborative care
Because our team approach includes medical cardiologists, cardiac interventionalists and cardiac surgeons, each child’s therapeutic options are broader than they would be under the care of a single specialist.

Here, patients may be considered for medical therapy, repair with a cardiac device (such as a defibrillator), minimally invasive surgery or a traditional operation, rather than being advised on only a single option.

In addition, our collaboration allows for children with even the most severe conditions — such as Down’s syndrome, neurological problems or endocrine syndromes — as well as congenital heart disease to receive the very best care.
