State-of-the-Art Treatments
The team employs many different interventions to save brain function.

Treatments include:
  • Cerebral Angioplasty: A tiny surgical balloon dilates the artery, increasing blood flow.
  • Endovascular coils: Tiny coils of stainless steel are placed inside an aneurysm to prevent it from rupturing
  • Hypertensive hypervolemic hemodilution: Combines IV (intravenous) medications and fluids to increase blood pressure and volume, allowing blood to flow through blocked arteries
  • Hypothermia: Lowers the brain’s temperature  to protect cells from cell death
  • Plasmapheresis: Removes and cleanses blood·
  • Thrombolysis: IV therapy to dissolve stroke-causing clots
  • Ventricular drainage: Allows cerebrospinal fluid to be drained so that it doesn’t cause increased pressure in the brain
