The Quest For The Cure
John Letterio, MD Welcome to the Rainbow Cancer Center. If you are reading this web page, it’s likely that a child you love has cancer. If so, I’d like to share with you my conviction that Rainbow Cancer Center offers everything you could possibly want in a healthcare facility – top-notch care, the most promising new treatments, nationally known researchers and educators, and a dedicated, compassionate team of experts devoted to improving the lives of infants, children and teenagers with cancer.

The Rainbow Cancer Center is part of University Hospitals’ Ireland Cancer Center, a leader in the field of cancer research and one of the top National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the nation. As such, we participate in major clinical trials of new drugs, pioneering techniques and novel devices for cancer treatment, and are able to bring our patients opportunities for investigational therapies not available at other centers in the area.

The Center is also a full member of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), the nation’s largest consortium of medical centers for pediatric cancer therapy.  At the Rainbow Cancer Center, our goal is not only to control cancer but to cure it. Rainbow Cancer Center also brings highly specialized care to non-malignant diseases of the blood. We are known as world leaders in the care of sickle cell anemia, hemophilia and other blood disorders.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the Rainbow Cancer Center and its capabilities to help young people with cancer and blood disorders. My staff and I are ready to help in any way we can.
