The Ambulatory Surgery - Outpatient Procedures Department at UH-Geneva Medical Center is designed with conveniences for the out-patient in mind. The department features three suites- two endoscopic suites and a dedicated treatment suite - designed for surgery or a procedure after which the patient will return to their home that same day.
Patients who are coming into UH-Geneva Medical Center’s Ambulatory Surgery - Outpatient Procedures Department are required to bring the medications that they are currently taking. This includes prescribed medications as well as over-the-counter medications and any herbal supplements as well. Also remember to include aspirin and/or any other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) pain relievers, vitamins and any other substances. (If in doubt, please list the items in question.) The patient (or family) is also asked to provide in writing the dosages and frequency accompanying the medicine / supplement containers.
To help get prepared for a procedure, the patient’s physician will give a set of instructions regarding medication, diet restrictions, projected length of time needed for the test, and other information specific to each test.
