The physicians and staff at University Hospitals Comprehensive Hernia Center are internationally recognized experts in innovative hernia surgery and research.
Physicians throughout the Midwest refer patients to the Center for our multidisciplinary care approach that includes a team of expert hernia surgeons and dedicated plastic surgeons with broad experience in abdominal wall reconstruction and body contouring.
In collaboration with the Case Western Reserve University department of engineering and genetics, the Center is evaluating new prosthetic devices for hernia repair and studying the genetic contributions to hernia formation. In addition, the Center conducts clinical trials on the elimination of post-operative pain after hernia repair.
