The following specific projects have been selected to
illustrate the range of work completed or underway by RCPE faculty:
* Confidentiality in the
Adolescent Patient/Doctor Relationship:
A prospective, randomized controlled trial of an educational pamphlet for
adolescent patients designed to increase adolescent’s understanding of
confidentiality issues in the doctor/patient relationship and to evaluate the
effect of the intervention on the patient interview.
* Hepatitis B Vaccine
Refusal – Parental Perspectives:
A
prospective study of families who refuse hepatitis B vaccine in the newborn
nursery.
*Palliative Care in
Pediatrics:
Improving the design,
delivery, and outcome of palliative care services in pediatrics.
* Decisions About
Delivery Room Resuscitation for Premature Infants at the Limits of Viability.
* Utilization of
Prenatal Consultation with Neonatologist Prior to Preterm Delivery.
