The Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital Pediatric Trauma Department stands ready with state-of-the-the-art care if your child is seriously injured. Comprised of four board certified and Advanced Trauma Life Support Certified surgeons, our highly-trained staff are immediately available 24 hours a day. They are supported by a team of nurses trained in trauma care and by other specialty physicians who are ready to provide acute care for the trauma patient.
RBC boasts the only Level 1 Trauma Center in a pediatric hospital in Northern Ohio . We have been an American College of Surgeon's (ACS) verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center since 1992. In June, 2006, the ACS reverified the Pediatric Trauma Department for three more years with no criterion deficiencies.
The American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course and the American College of Surgeons Advanced Trauma Life Support for Doctors (ATLS) course are offered through Pediatric Trauma. Contact us for more information.
