Specialty Overview
These clinics are offered by our allergy/immunologists at various UHHS facilities including Landerbrook, Westlake, Strongsville and Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. Since it is a conjoint specialty, physicians can evaluate patients of all ages. A comprehensive evaluation for various allergic and related disorders is provided at these clinics. These disorders include, but are not limited to:
environmental allergies (allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis and asthma)
food allergies
latex allergy
venom (bee sting) allergies
atopic dermatitis (eczema)
recurrent urticaria and angioedema (hives and swelling)
variety of anaphylaxis syndromes
Allergy evaluation and treatment
skin testing - epicutaneous and intradermal
RAST testing
challenges - food, drug, latex, antigen, exercise, etc.
allergy shots (for environmental and venom allergy patients)
desensitization procedures for various drugs
A comprehensive evaluation of chronic or recurrent respiratory symptoms or recurring infections, such as otitis media, pneumonia & sinusitis, and diagnosis & care for patients with autoimmune and/or immunodeficiency diseases.

lymphocyte & phagocyte function
delayed hypersensitivity skin testing
