CLEVELAND – University Hospitals Twinsburg Health Center will hold a community open house on January 29, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., to celebrate the opening of its new, state-of-the-art outpatient health center in Twinsburg. The Twinsburg Health Center, which is the first completed building project of UH’s Vision 2010 strategic plan, is located at 8819 Commons Boulevard, off Route 82.
At the open house, UH will offer free health screenings, including blood pressure, blood sugar, blood type, body fat index for children, and cholesterol. Visitors also will enjoy refreshments, give-aways, and tours of the facility. The UH MedEvac helicopter and members of the critical care flight team will be on site.
Achilles Demetriou, M.D., Ph.D., president of University Hospitals, and Robert McDermott, president of the Twinsburg City Council, will make brief remarks at 5 p.m. “The UH Twinsburg Health Center allows us to better serve the growing needs of the Twinsburg community and its surrounding region,” said Dr. Demetriou. “This opening is the first of several major building projects in the health system’s Vision 2010 strategic plan, the largest expansion in University Hospitals’ history. The planned new construction throughout Northeast Ohio exemplifies our commitment to the community and our desire to provide the highest quality healthcare to our patients.”
The 46,000-square-foot ambulatory health center sits on a five-acre parcel of land highly visible from I-480 in Twinsburg. It is easily accessible from either the Route 82 interchange or the Route 91 interchange.
The center features the latest in medical technology for diagnostic and outpatient primary and specialty physician services, as well as an Urgent Care Center. Thirty primary and specialty care physicians offer services in this exceptional facility to meet an entire family’s medical needs, including executive medicine; primary care for adults and children; Rainbow Babies & Children’s Physicians and Pediatric Services; diagnostic services; occupational health; vascular care; and women’s health. Other services include orthopaedics; pain management; general surgery; ob/gyn; allergy and immunology; cardiology, and laboratory services.
The Urgent Care Center offers coverage for several common non-emergency ailments, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and weekends 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. UH will construct a helistop to provide transport by UH’s MedEvac and all area medical helicopters.
Michael Nochomovitz, M.D., president and chief medical officer, University Hospitals Medical Practices, said, “We are proud that our physicians represent the most highly respected practitioners in Twinsburg whose history of providing care in the community goes back 25 years.”
The UH Twinsburg Health Center is a significant project in UH’s Vision 2010 strategic plan. Other building projects include a new Cancer Hospital and Center for Emergency Medicine at University Hospitals Case Medical Center, a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and the UH Ahuja Medical Center in Beachwood at Chagrin Highlands.
