Valproate is an anticonvulsant drug that may be helpful in reducing the occurrence of problem behaviors in Alzheimer's disease (AD). This research study will test whether Valproate is effective in delaying, weakening or preventing difficult behaviors and whether it has any effect on memory and thinking in people with early stage AD. |
| Criteria: |
Participants must have mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease, between the ages of 55 and 90,and have not experienced agitation or psychosis since the onset of AD. |
