Kidney Stones and Minimally Invasive Prostate Surgery Program

Advanced Treatment for Kidney Stones and Prostate Using Minimally Invasive Urological Procedures

The Kidney Stones & Minimally Invasive Prostate Surgery Program at University Hospitals Urology Institute offers advanced surgical treatment for patients suffering from kidney stones or an enlarged prostate. Our specialists are trained to treat patients using minimally invasive urological procedures allowing patients shorter recovery time with fewer complications to get them back to a normal life.

The Only Hospital in Northeast Ohio Using HoLEP to Treat Enlarged Prostate in Men

For men suffering from enlarged prostate, the holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) is a minimally invasive treatment option coming to UH. In this procedure, a holmium laser is used to separate the prostate gland tissue from the prostate capsule, which allows for complete resection of the benign tissue. This procedure offers several advantages over traditional benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) treatments, including treatment of any size prostate, a quicker recovery, fewer complications and lower chance of requiring future surgeries.
