Vestibular Therapy

Improving Balance and Decreasing Dizziness with Vestibular Therapy

The Center for Rehabilitation Services at University Hospitals offers an exercise-based program for patients experiencing vestibular problems affecting movement and sense of balance. Symptoms of vestibular issues can include feeling unsteady, woozy, light-headed or the sensation of spinning or movement called vertigo. During an initial appointment, our experts perform a complete patient evaluation, including an assessment of:

  • Balance
  • Gait (how patient walks)
  • Neck motion
  • Visual stability

The vestibular therapy care plan is individualized for each patient’s needs. Working together with the therapist, the patient can improve function in everyday activities, reduce the risk of falling, and improve overall quality of life.
