Albert’s Story

“My left leg was really starting to bother me again. I could stand for hours at a time, but couldn’t walk for more than four minutes. Jeff’s Story

On the morning of October 2, 2017, Jeff Colvin awoke with pain in his chest. First responders transported Jeff to University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center, where physicians determined that he was having a heart attack. From there, Jeff was transported via LifeFlight helicopter to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where Ankur Kalra, MD, an interventional cardiologist with University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute, was waiting for him. Jim’s Story

In February 2016, Jim Burry visited Argentina and hiked in the Andes Mountains. In just one day, the 76-year-old from Cleveland Heights hiked 10 miles – on an incline the equivalent of 80 floors – and recorded 30,000 steps. What makes this feat even more impressive is that less than two years ago, a blocked artery in Jim’s left leg was causing so much pain that he could barely walk. That’s where University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute vascular surgeon Vikram Kashyap, MD, came in. Learn more
