Mukesh K. Jain, MD, Scientific Director, Harrington Discovery Institute, is Chief Research Officer, University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute; the Ellery Sedgwick Jr. Chair & Distinguished Scientist; Director, Case Cardiovascular Research Institute at Case Western Reserve University; and Professor of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Jain is internationally recognized for studies that established a central role for a family of genetic factors called Kruppel-like factors in cardiovascular biology, innate immunity, and metabolism. Dr. Jain’s clinical and academic contributions are recognized by numerous awards and honors including election to the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI), American Association of Physicians (AAP), and Association University Cardiologists (AUC). Dr. Jain is a member of the American Heart Association’s Advancement of Science and Basic Science Council, serves on multiple editorial boards, and has been the recipient of numerous NIH grants. He is President-elect of the ASCI.
Dr. Jain received his MD from the University of Buffalo School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and completed a cardiology fellowship at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
