Shobha Parthasarathi, PhD, Vice President, Strategic Alliances and Business Development, Harrington Discovery Institute manages alliances with corporate, academic and foundation partners, oversees the Technology Commercialization Program initiative funded by Ohio’s Third Frontier and enables identification and acceleration of technologies for formation of early stage pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Parthasarathi joined Harrington Discovery Institute in 2015 as Director, Strategic Initiatives. Prior to joining the institute, Dr. Parthasarathi was Senior Director, Technology Development at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center where she evaluated emerging technologies for the development of therapeutics, diagnostics and medical devices, assessed life sciences start-up companies, managed a business funding program, and contributed to growth of biotechnology companies across the state. Prior to the NC Biotechnology Center, Dr. Parthasarathi was a research scientist and manager at Millennium Pharmaceuticals (Takeda Oncology) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she conducted drug discovery research, evaluated technologies and developed in-house expertise for multiple therapeutic groups. She received her Ph.D. in molecular genetics and microbiology from Rutgers University/University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
