Samantha Stubblefield is a Project Manager at Harrington Discovery Institute. She works within the Innovation Support Center, and manages and guides scholar projects that are supported by the Harrington Discovery Institute (HDI).
Dr. Stubblefield is a scientist with a background in R&D, cellular therapeutics, and project management. At HDI, Dr. Stubblefield will assist the Innovation Support Center (ISC) panel and HDI scholars to accelerate new drug discovery projects and to give each project the best opportunity to be translated into an FDA approved drug.
Dr. Stubblefield obtained her PhD in Molecular Biology at Case Western Reserve University, studying immune responses to viral infection in the CNS, and did her postdoctoral training in the Department of Medicine at Case Western Reserve investigating chronic inflammation in patients with HIV and IBD. During her tenure in therapeutic development, Dr. Stubblefield has developed PK and potency assays, led teams investigating the mechanism of action of a cell therapy product, established new pre-clinical programs, and developed defense strategies for patents. She has experience in academia (CWRU), biotech start-up (Thermalin Diabetes, LLC), and clinical-stage biotech (Athersys, Inc).
