National Health Decision Day

National Health Care Decisions Day is April 16

On April 13, University Hospitals representatives will be available at a number of UH medical centers to promote National Health Care Decisions Day and answer questions about advance care planning for aging adults and their caregivers.

National Health Care Decisions Day exists to inspire, educate and empower the public and providers about the importance of advance care planning. It is an initiative to encourage patients to express their wishes regarding health care.

National Health Care Decisions Day exists as a 50-state annual initiative to provide clear, concise and consistent information on health care decision-making to both the public and providers/facilities.

National Health Care Decisions Day helps people understand that advance health care decision-making includes much more than living wills. It is a process that should focus first on conversation and choosing an agent.
