Diseases of the Pancreas, Gall Bladder, and Biliary Tract

University Hospitals Digestive Health Institute has a team of experienced specialists who use state-of-the art techniques to diagnose and treat disorders of the pancreas and biliary tract. The biliary tract refers to the organs in the body that work together to make, store and secrete bile. This includes the liver, gall bladder and bile ducts.

Our experts use the latest treatment options, including leading-edge surgical techniques as well as non-invasive endoscopic procedures.

Conditions we treat include:

Robotic Gallbladder Surgery

UH general surgeons use robotic surgery technology to perform cholecystectomy, or surgery to remove the gallbladder. With the da Vinci robotic surgery system, our surgeons use an advanced set of surgical tools that provide greater precision and range of motion. Robotic surgery with da Vinci offers many advantages over traditional, open gallbladder surgery. These include smaller and fewer incisions, less pain and lower risk of complications. Patients who undergo robotic surgery may also spend less time in the hospital and recover faster.
