Why Choose Us?
Why Come to UH for Proton Therapy Cancer Treatment?
A Leader in Cancer Care for Adults and Children
University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center is Ohio’s first freestanding cancer hospital and the first hospital in Ohio to offer proton therapy for our patients. Additionally, the Angie Fowler Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Institute at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital – a nationally ranked leader in cancer care and one of the only children’s hospitals in the world with an onsite proton therapy facility – is a national leader in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of cancers and blood disorders in children, teens and young adults, and is fully integrated with UH Seidman Cancer Center.
While proton therapy is not appropriate for every patient, UH Seidman Cancer Center offers the complete spectrum of leading-edge treatment options for every type of cancer. In addition to advanced radiation therapy technologies, such as proton therapy, linear accelerator and Gamma Knife® radiosurgery, our dedicated cancer doctors use innovative surgical techniques, chemotherapy and other treatment options to help cure cancer.
UH Seidman Cancer Center is a founding member of the National Cancer Institute-designated Case Comprehensive Cancer Center at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. This means our patients also have the opportunity to participate in more than 300 clinical trials, giving them access to innovative treatments not widely available at other cancer hospitals.
