Proton Therapy Information for Physicians

When to Refer for Proton Therapy

Every cancer patient is unique, and proton therapy is not appropriate for all patients. For younger patients and those patients who have a tumor located near a vital organ, proton therapy could be a viable option. Therefore, we encourage individual consultation to examine all the clinical information in the patient’s history to determine whether proton therapy is the best treatment option. Of course, we keep the referring physician informed of the personalized treatment plan from the beginning and return the patient to the referring physician for follow-up care.
