Clinical Excellence and a Supportive Environment Benefit Pediatric Cancer Patients

In the fight against childhood cancer, University Hospitals brings together resources from two of the nation’s most respected hospitals: University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center and University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital

UH Seidman Cancer Center, part of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, is a Comprehensive Cancer Center as designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). It is also one of a select group of only 40 such cancer centers in the U.S. At UH Seidman Cancer Center, children with cancer have access to the newest facilities and the most advanced outpatient cancer care.

When hospital admission is required, patients are treated at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital is consistently ranked among the top children’s hospitals nationwide.

To effectively treat young cancer patients, UH Seidman Cancer Center partners with specialists at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Their advanced skills and experience are specific to pediatric oncology and hematology.

  • Our experienced oncologists diagnose and treat all types of children’s cancer and nonmalignant blood disease.
  • Our specialists, support staff and facilities are dedicated to caring for children of all ages—from infants to young adults.
  • As a Comprehensive Cancer Center, we participate in major clinical trials of new drugs, innovative techniques and advanced technologies. Children treated at our center have access to investigational therapies not available at other regional centers.
  • UH Seidman Cancer Center is a full member of the Children’s Oncology Group, a consortium of over 200 medical centers dedicated to discovering and sharing new knowledge about pediatric cancer. Our participation in this group brings global expertise in pediatric cancer treatment that may benefit our young patients.
  • Specific programs are focused on survivorship. After cancer treatment, a variety of issues and additional risk factors can come into play. Nutritionists, physical therapists, social workers and other specialists provide long-term follow-up care and support.
